Austerity Blog Policies

Welcome back!

Comments:

Austerity Blog warmly welcomes comments, in fact we LOVE comments. In these times of economic instability many minds are better than one. I welcome tips, comments and constructive criticism. However, I reserve the right to edit or reject any comment. Please understand that all comments are moderated and are subject to approval by yours truly.

Freebies:

The FTC recently set out new rules that bloggers have to follow in regards to disclosing their relationships with advertisers who give them freebies and whatnot. This was a pretty unregulated part of the web and now the FTC have decided to step in a threaten bloggers with $11,000 fines unless they disclose their relationships with their advertisers.

At this current time, Austerity blog is not receiving any freebies, but I want to assure all of you that wither an item is free or paid for, I will review with the same critical thinking. I will also make sure to note when I have received something for free, so that you can judge for yourselves.

Ad Disclaimer:

We wrestled with whether or not to put ads on this site.

While we don’t want to promote consumerism and purhcasing things you don’t need, one of the main goals of this blog is to encourage people to earn extra money. This blog is not exempt from that. We’ve set it up to turn it into a business.

So, we’ve decided to include small amounts of ads. If they bother you, don’t click them – or block them. Hopefully the ads will stay targeted to the message we try to send. We’re sorry if sometimes they don’t.
